Behaviour and Bullying - Restorative Practices

At St Joseph's School, we use a restorative process to support our children to manage their behaviour. Through this process, children learn to recognise that their behaviour has an impact on others which at times is negative and it provides the opportunity to restore the relationships that may have damaged.

The benefits of using this process are that:
  • everyone has a voice
  • it provides the opportunity to develop communication as a means of resolving conflict
  • it encourages children to take personal responsibility for their behaviour choices
  • there is dignity for all
  • there is the opportunity for empowerment for the victim
