Term One

Wakatipu Triathlon:
The Wakatipu triathlon is to be held on Tuesday 12th March. The children below have been selected to compete. There were many that expressed their interest which was great however we just could not take all of them and we know that with another year to practice and gain more experience they will be able to confidently put their names forward for the 2020 event. The students below begin their training this week. Good luck to them. Thank you to Victoria Robertson who is getting behind these teams and organising parental support to help kids with their training. If there is anyone out there that would like to help please let me know.

Alexandra Netball Tournament
The annual APS 7-aside tournament is being played Molyneux Park, Alexandra on Saturday 6th April 2019. This is a great warm-up to the season ahead and a fun family day for all.  Entries close Friday 22nd March.

7 aside Tournament - Alexandra Primary School - Registration forms for both netball and rugby are on here.

Participation in this tournament is completely up to the coaches/players/parents. If you decide that you would like to do this than you may go ahead and register your team.

Team and Player Contacts
I am still confirming players for each team. Most teams are looking good in terms of numbers, however, I only have 3 names confirmed for the Year 6 team. I know that they were on school camp and this will probably be the reason for the delay. Please do get your notice back to me ASAP.

Lunchtime Coaching
I am now able to confirm that there will be WEEKLY netball skills coaching sessions led by a Kelly Sports Coach starting on Tuesday 26th March. These sessions will run every Tuesday for the last 3 weeks of Term 1 and then every Tuesday for all of Term 2. These are compulsory for all players. This is of no extra cost to parents.
We are looking for an adult to help support the coach for these sessions. If you are able to do so please let me know as soon as you can. Thank you.

Rippa Rugby:
We have the annual Rippa Rugby tournament on the 18th of June. We are hoping to utilise the strengths of our Yrs 5-6 and 7-8 touch players to form the basis of the teams for this competition. Others that wish to play and are not touch players will be invited to trial. At present we are looking into extra training through Kelly Sports and teachers will be delivering a Rippa Rugby Skills Unit through their classroom PE programme. If there are any parents who would like to take on a team and really help out with getting these kids ready we would really appreciate the support!
